SKYLER GALLARZAN WRITES– With thousands of residents fallen victim to the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires, Los Angeles now hopes to take its first steps toward recovery, gaining support from all over the world.
Nearly 38,000 acres of land have been destroyed across both the Palisades and Eaton Fires, displacing more than 150,000 LA natives. Since the fires have started January 7th, containment is still an ongoing battle.
The call for donations is needed now more than ever. Here are a few ways that San Diegans can help support our Southern California neighbors.
SoCal Filipinos:
Nonprofit Organization SoCal Filipinos has launched a moving initiative to support displaced Filipino families. A Google Sheets document has been created, listing dozens of families and their individual GoFundMe Fundraisers. With these donations, you would be able to directly aid in LA Filipinos lives, both in immediate relief and long term recovery.
Follow the list of families at tinyurl.com/SoCalFam25 or at SoCal Filipino’s social media pages.
